Benefits of Websites For Small Businesses

So, lets say you own a small business. You work long hours but you love being your own boss and would never trade it for some corporate gig where you don’t have as much control over your work life. You make enough money to be happy, maybe even some more… You probably have a few employees or maybe you run it all on your own; either way your bottom line is important. You need profits! That’s what makes the business stay running and puts food on your table. So, why spend the money on a website? For a good design it could cost over $1500, if its more complicated it could cost much more. What are the benefits of websites for small businesses? First, lets think about how much your time is worth. How much is each hour of your day worth to you? If you spend your time taking information, collecting leads for future clients, and advertising your products and/or services, how much is that time worth to you? If you spend one hour on advertising your business how much return will you get? That is where a website comes into play. A website is like an employee that you only have to pay for once and they work for you 24/7 until the end of the internet (which basically is the end of the world).

“A website is like an employee that you only have to pay for once.”

For example, do you have a secretary? If you don’t you probably want one, and if you don’t want someone to do take the boring work off of your hands then you’re lying to yourself. I have never heard someone say, “Oh, I love my business but what really makes my day is doing all paperwork at the end of the day.” No one likes looking through 40 pages of credit card receipts or work orders and inputing them in accounting so the IRS can take their cut out later. By the way, if you have a secretary who does it, they don’t like it either, so stop making them do it because there is a being out there that likes to do it and will do the menial tasks without asking for a raise or complaining about it on their twitter when they get off work. Websites love to do the jobs that no one else does! For example, one of our customers was running a company that needed to collect pictures in order to give out quotes. Instead of having to call clients and collect the pictures himself he hired us to build a simple contact form where his clients can upload the pictures themselves and he can analyze them on his phone wherever he was and immediately send them a quote.

Custom Contact form made to take images and send them to owners phone for quick quotes.

You just saved time and so you saved money. On top of that, you look a lot more credible! Instead of a client potentially sending the pictures to a wrong email account because they heard it wrong or misspelled it, you just tell them, “Go to my website, click “Contact” and send them to me.” No mistakes there.

Websites can do many jobs that you don’t have to do. Websites can take files, send automatic instructions to potential clients, gather information on clients, take applications for potential employees, catalogue clients, employees, and transactions, take credit card information and process transactions, and many many more functions. In fact, if you think of a function that you think doesn’t exist, it probably does… but if it truly does not a qualified programmer might be able to make it happen.

Let’s talk about another one of the benefits of websites:

Websites do the advertising for you. 24/7.

That’s right. They never stop. Let’s say that you have a potential client searching “real estate in Tampa” on Google and you’re a real estate agent. What’s the chance of them calling you if your website is not showing up on the first page? Pretty low. When is the last time you searched for a service online and chose the one showing up on the fourth or fifth page. Think about that. If you answered, “all the time” you’re weird and you know it and are probably okay with it. Most people don’t go past the first page. Websites need SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and that’s why SEO is a huge business nowadays. In fact, 89% of consumers use the internet to find local businesses. So, if you don’t have a website, your business is running on 11% of your possible client base. If you do have a website and its not properly optimized it could be almost just as useless as not having a website at all.

The point is, there is a reason why Google is worth $28.3 BILLION as of 2014, its because they are useful, very useful, especially for small businesses and you don’t need to give Google a dime to use their services because most people ignore paid ads anyway (they probably think if they have enough money to pay Google then they are probably overcharging). To be on the first page, all you need is a good web designer to include SEO in their design packages. That will get your business more customers whenever they are searching for you no matter if it is 2:30am and they are on their phone or if they are on their desktop computer in their corporate office at 2:30pm. If your website is on Google, your customers can find you anytime and anywhere.

So, if you’re in need of website or you need to update your existing website call us. If you’re in the Tampa Bay Area we’ll meet you personally and create a custom plan for you. If you’re not local, we can meet using our website because its awesome.

These guys are awesome, they are like the freaking gods of the web design world. Not to mention how much I was able to save with their fair pricing. They delivered a top notch website designed just the way I visioned it, hosting on a reliable server, SEO to die for, and are always there to help if I have any questions or requests. Couldn't be happier that I found them and don't see myself ever wasting my time and/or money with another company ever again. Keep up the hard work gents.

These guys handled all of the headache of building a website and making sure it shows up on the first page of google. They also made it easy for our customers to view products on phones and tablets. It did take some time (over a month) but the finished project was amazing and their communication of their timeline was also very good. I would definitely recommend them to any other business!

These guys will basically build any program you can think of, they do the design and the build while keeping you in the loop at all times. They are more affordable than the bigger companies and definitely have more expertise and care for the customer. I was impressed.
